The long-awaited debut solo release from Minneapolis-based musician and composer JT Bates is now ready for release later this month.Open Relationships, recorded at April Base Studios in Wisconsin with acclaimed producer BJ Burton, is a largely solo effort written and performed by JT, with contributions from electronic/noise artist Mark McGee and guitarist Jeremy Ylvisaker. 
With a focus on manipulated recordings of solo drum arrangements, this instrumental album is a cohesive collection of layered drones, glitched rhythms, and sonic textures that make the idea of a genre tag irrelevant and incomplete. 
This is the official record release show for Open Relationships, as the last installment in 2015 of JT's widely known Monday Night Jazz Implosion series at Icehouse in Minneapolis, MN.
