Lazy Scorsese:

Lazy Scorsese is a psychedelic rock band that combines elements of pop, funk, folk, & shoegaze to create lush soundscapes centered around themes of love, interconnectedness, seeking truth, counter-culture, & the daily musings seen from the vantage point of Lazy Scorsese Following their debut EP released in October of 2016, the band gained traction as finalists in the StarTribune’s Best New Band contest, and landed in City Pages 10MN Acts Poised to Pop in 2017. Originally the project was started by Oz (a film student turned musician) as The Lazy Kids, who found found four of the five members via Craigslist.
A more experimental shift in style over the years, a night of poor sleep, and a chance encounter at a party led to the final member joining the band on keys, and the birth of Lazy Scorsese. "Lazy Scorsese are formidable mood makers with surplus depth...Their

26 Bats:

26 BATS! is composed of the members of music collective, Kriyative Emblems of a Blue Soul Renaissance. With their multi-genre influences including hip hop, jazz, soul, and alternative rock, 26 BATS! creates music with no intention of boundaries of a genre. These jazz and blues trained musicians challenge their sound with their desire for sonic exploration. By sneaking mantras in their lyrics and using themes of overcoming hate, this twin cities based band has full intentions of empowering and healing through the embodiment of music.

Jeremy Ylvisaker:

Jeremy Ylvisaker is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer who has recorded with and/or played with John Prine, Andrew Bird, members of Prince's New Power Generation, Jenny Lewis, Justin Vernon, The Suburbs, Eyedea, Fog, Haley, Chuck Statler (maker of "The Truth About Devolution") Merce Cunningham dance company, and many others.  He has performed on five continents in venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, The Cape Town Jazz Festival, The Ed Sullivan Theater (The Late Show with David Letterman), and other television programs including Austin City Limits and the Colbert Report. He composes and improvises a variety of instrumental music, some of which to accompany dance performances such as "Stripe Tease", some of which for use in films such as "Pitchfork Unsung: Dan Corrigan", "Rhythmic" (feat. Andrew Bird), and "Trophy Husband." Some just for listening while you do what you do. Jeremy also writes songs for the band Alpha Consumer. 

"Dimebag" is inspired by the story of Eddie Van Halen's guitar in Dimebag Darrell's coffin. It's a heavy and undertold story, like one people would make up while trying to understand constellations. The sword of the elder. Now, this music happens to not sound much like either of those musicians, rather it was written as a sort of abstract memorial service in 3 parts. The idea grew from there. 

Recording began in January of 2007, and continued as ideas sprung up everywhere, preserved using what was at hand. 2 songs were written and recorded at Andrew Bird soundchecks. 2 were recorded by the late great Micheal "Eyedea" Larsen. One was a part of another recording that sounded good by itself. This record was as discovered as it was made. Time plays a role as 10 years passed while material slowly fell together. 

"Malibu Hymnal", by contrast, was made in a few hours. Guitars, microphones, friends. That's what happened.
