Astronomique:

Fusing infectious dance beats with darkly beautiful waves of psychedelic synths, fuzzed out guitars, and hypnotic vocals in a futuristic yet impassioned onslaught, the honesty and joviality of Minneapolis band Astronomique shows through on their latest release, Mimic Forms.  The 2-track, 7-minute single features skipping bass lines and winding synths layered among intoxicatingly sweet vocals, all delivered with gloriously bubblegum-pop sassiness wrapped around viciously catchy pop hooks.  Matching dark disco with dreamy pop to fantastic effect, it’s moody enough to be alluring while retaining the essential delight of a house party.  See Astronomique perform on Thursday, November 16 at Icehouse MPLS with StoLyette and Beasthead.

“…hooky celestial pop-rock that sounds a bit like Ladytron meets dreamy psychedelia meets Carl Sagan.” -89.3 The Current

“…infectious, totally danceable electro-psych pop. Described, somewhat aptly, as ‘space-wave’ and ‘spacey dance music,’ I’m inclined to describe them as bubblegum darkwave in all the best ways.  This is what I want synthpop to sound like.” -Radio K 770 AM

“Astronomique ups the post-punk ante by a 1,000 percent with an ass-ton of magnificently echo-driven guitar/bass interplay.  Think: Siouxie and the Cure, with the emphasis on the brighter aspects of those bands rather than the goth, moody ones.  Add in some vibes lifted from Cocteau Twins and Lush, plus sharply danceable beats, and you have an EP pitched squarely at Minneapolis' dream-pop past.” -Minneapolis City Pages

“…the kind of deep-cut vibe that would be rolling in the wee hours of some great party, in some awesome basement, back in the day.  Astronomique’s tunes are the sonic combo of clove cigs and patchouli, which were perhaps as important as the tunes themselves back in the ‘80s.”  -Invasion From Planet K

Beasthead:

Beasthead is an electronic indie rock band from Minneapolis, MN.

They came together in an effort to create a sound that could speak to the unusually eclectic common ground they found in their shared artistic interests. Drawing from their past musical experiences and current influences, Beasthead’s music is as unique and diverse as the flourishing creative community found in Minneapolis, yet it "boldly stands apart from much of what is happening in the current Twin Cities music scene" (CITY PAGES, 03/27/14).

In the Spring of 2017, Beasthead released their sophomore EP, I Owe You For This, co-produced by Ryan Olcott. Uniquely merging elements from several genres, the EP creates a sense of familiarity that cycles between tangible and abstract, making the songs both contagious, yet difficult to categorize.

Following a well-received record release, the band has been busy booking out the rest of their year as they continue to seek new opportunities to share their inimitable music.
