Lojo Russo:

Lojo Russo has been making music along the muddy waters of the Mississippi since she first picked up a guitar refining and defining her music while playing in jam, Celtic, blues and roots rock bands in the Twin Cities until relocating to the Quad Cities, IA in 2005 where she continues to write, create and perform her exceptional balance of Americana, blues and roots rock around the country. Russo’s musical style is as unpredictable as the river she calls home - one moment we’re being swept along a furious rhythm on the guitar punctuated with a wailing vocal the next we’re floating upon intricate finger-picking and a voice as intense and haunting as her lyrics.

“Fresh Oil – Loose Gravel” will be Russo’s 9th album.

Lojo Russo has been described as a songwriter with "a lot of lyrical power", a guitarist with “powerful playing” and a singer with "one hell of a voice" who performs "with the energy and rocking empowerment of Ani DiFranco, the graceful folksiness of the Indigo Girls”, and “the gritty blues of Susan Tedeschi".

With raw energy, she moves from sweet folk to roots rock without missing a beat.

“This is a one-woman show that shows you only need one woman”. - Ellwood Barret, Festival in the Clouds
