BBGUN:

BBGUN began in a sunny living room, over coffee, on a Friday morning that quickly turned into every Friday morning. Musicians and songwriters Al Church and Neal Perbix's distinct styles, matured over years of Minneapolis gigs, wove to form lyrics that are both contemplative and playful and harmonies both sophisticated and singable. Complemented by Jeremy Hanson's expert, easy drumming, their rock 'n' roll tunes sound best blasted from the speakers of a pickup truck. BBGUN's solid debut album documents the anxiety and surprising joys of trading in late-night cigarettes for a kind of settling down.

Alpha Consumer:

Meat is the latest full-length from the Minneapolis-based three piece. It comes packaged in a gatefold jacket, with photography and design by Cameron Wittig and Mike Davis (Burlesque of North America).

The members of Alpha Consumer have worked with Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, Andrew Bird, Chuck Statler, Brother Ali, Anais Mitchell, Pieta Brown, A Prairie Home Companion, and more. MOJO said, “(Alpha Consumer) reminded us of just how great American oddball rock used to be. The Modern Lovers meets Talking Heads but heavier is how we describe Alpha Consumer. In truth, they’re more entertaining than that.” -March 2011.

This new batch of recordings that became the album titled “Meat” found its beginnings as a bite from an ordinary shark. The resulting nightmarish food cravings that accompanied the prescribed pharmaceuticals post-hospital, piled onto pre-existing crippling loneliness, wound up being the perfect cocktail to make these brand new smash hits beloved by b-girls worldwide. Would also work great in a car commercial.
