The Shabby Road Orchestra:

Released with minimal fanfare in November of 1968, “The Beatles”  — better known as the band’s iconic and ambitious 30-song White Album — emerged out of growing tensions within the studio-based foursome upon their departure from an ashram in India. The album, now being celebrated in 50th anniversary concerts across the globe, marked a return to stripped-down rock, lyrical folk, experimental and melodic genre songwriting. Treasured by serious fans of the band, the double album captured the full eclectic breadth of the Beatles at a creative high point. Rarely-performed recordings that have withstood the test of time include "While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” (given new life with a mesmerizing 2004 performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Tom Petty and Prince), “Blackbird," “Julia," "Back in the USSR," "Martha My Dear," "Dear Prudence" and the original heavy metal song, "Helter Skelter."

Returning from sold-out performances in 2017 of Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Shabby Road Orchestra is an ad-hoc Minneapolis collective of original and live music veterans including vocalist Joe Carey, percussionist Ken Chastain, frontman John Eller (The Shiny Lights), bassist John Fields, Dave Foley, frontman Adam Levy (The Honeydogs), Andy Nelson, vocalist Brandon Sampson (Six Mile Grove), John Sievers, Paul Scott, music arranger Tom Scott, harpist Phala Tracy and cellist Jacqueline Ultan (JelloSlave).
