Lucid VanGuard:
Directed by the songwriting of Karl Remus, Lucid VanGuard navigates an atmospheric realm of sonic cinemas, weaving cryptic lyrical tapestries through a balancing act of calm balladry and symphonic pandemonium. Lucid VanGuard is a part of the independent record label/collective, Kremblems. Band personnel includes: Karl Remus (Guitar, Lead Vocal), Warren Thomas Fenzi (Drums, Background Vocal), Bailey Cogan (Keys, Background Vocal), Christian Wheeler (Bass), Daniel “Chavo” Chavez (Trumpet).
Joe Kopel:
Joe Kopel is a Minneapolis-based songwriter/musician who has been performing under his own name since 2016. After sporadic touring, his first full-length record, Topics, has seen rotation on local radio stations, cafes and bars since its release in January 2018. On Topics, Kopel, who has performed in Twin Cities rock and folk bands since 2010, finds a sonic niche through the annals of bright, bristling 70s country and rock and roll, all the way up through 90s oddball rock. Rich in feeling and humor, the 10 songs on Topics explore the relationship with internet, work, and love, bringing anxiety and earnestness to fore. Called one of the best performers of the year by White Wall Sessions (Sioux Falls, SD), the Minnesota native performs live with a band as well as solo, bringing a unique intensity to each context.
Humbird:
After traversing 5 continents and 20 countries with only a guitar and a backpack, Humbird returns home to sing songs from the edge of the world. Combining a wintry longing with the warmth of a familiar folktale, Humbird stretches traditional genres of folk and Americana to embrace the unexpected. This music invites a refreshing dissonance into the house, it leaves breadcrumbs along the path and reflects light back at the stars.
Creating music out of a mosaic of influences like Joni Mitchell, Bon Iver and Bill Frisell, Humbird weaves it all together with powerful lyrics and a stubborn pursuit of the sound of the North. The release of Humbird’s double EP “Elsewhere” and “Where Else” in Summer 2017 is just the beginning.
