Lux String Quartet:

Lux String Quartet is a Twin-Cities based ensemble, bringing a dynamic edge to performance and education since 2013.  As avid recitalists, Lux maintains an active presence in a wide array of musical spheres, from concert halls and churches, to coffee shops and podcasts. Their concert series, "Lattes with Lux," established an enthusiastic fan base and is currently hosted by several local, independent coffee houses around the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

A wide spectrum of musical backgrounds and tastes contributes to the group's creativity, which is reflected in their collaborative projects with other artists. In addition to presenting classical repertoire, Lux  frequently collaborates with other musicians, actors, and composers to perform contemporary works, pushing boundaries of presentation, form, and aesthetic.

Dedicated to music education and instilling a love for their art in the next generation, Lux String Quartet presents at elementary schools and other music education programs. They served as quartet-in-residence at Augsburg University Suzuki Talent Education and are currently the quartet-in-residence for the Oskaloosa Music Festival.

Delphia Cello Quartet:

The Delphia Cello Quartet is an all-female quartet that plays original arrangements for four cellos. Formed in March 2017, the cello quartet brings a fun classical spin to familiar tunes. As friends and music-lovers, the quartet makes sure that rehearsals and performances involve giggling and serious playing in equal measure. In addition to Julia Floberg, the other quartet members are:

Rachelle LaNae Smith. Rachelle earned her B.A. in Music from the University of Minnesota, where she studied under Tanya Remenikova. Other teachers include Olga Dolgaya, Laura Handler, and Hong Wang. Rachelle is an active performer around the Twin Cities, both as a cellist and as a singer/songwriter under the artist name Rachelle LaNae. She currently teaches cello at St. Joseph’s School of Music and guitar/piano/voice at Twin Town Guitars. Intrigued by the intersections of music and psychology, Rachelle is also working on publishing her empirically derived theory that it is impossible to be sad while playing the ukulele.

Amanda Burgdorf. Since obtaining her B.A. in music from St. Olaf College, cellist and singer Amanda Burgdorf has performed at the Guthrie, American Swedish Institute, Bloomington Civic Theater, Lanesboro Music Festival, yoga studios, coffee shops, and a raft on the Mississippi River. She performs with her pop-folk band Muus, the Buffalo Community Orchestra, and Improvestra. When not making music, Amanda, a desperate extrovert, loves to bike the city in search of friendly strangers with whom to share a pleasant nod or passing greeting. She loves walking fast, potlucks, and advocating for health care as a human right.

Katherine Canon. Katherine Canon is a cello teacher and performer with a BA in Music and Spanish from St. Olaf College. She teaches individual and group cello lessons through her own studio and MacPhail Center for Music, and plays in a variety of groups in the Twin Cities, including the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and the band Fox & Coyote. In addition to music, Katherine likes to fill her life with delicious food, good books and plenty of outdoor adventures.
