THE ENDOWMENT is an annual celebration of Hip Hop culture and the spirit of resistance that drives it. Featuring some of the most dynamic, boundary-pushing performers in the Twin Cities hip hop scene, the phenomenon DJ Just Nine on the wheels of steel, hosted by Tish Jones, we are continuing this events history of giving and inheritance. In that spirit, the show is also a fundraiser for Twin Cities organization TruArtSpeaks and an opportunity to ensure that the next generation of artists have community, mentorship and access to high quality artistic engagement opportunities long into the future.

BdotCroc:

Brynne Crockett whose stage name is BdotCroc, is a rap artist who was born and raised from Northside Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has been in rap since the tender age of 8, in which she was always displaying her talent in her great grandmother’s basement doing a rap battle with her cousins. As a rap artist, BdotCroc always looks for ways she can make music connect with the audience and leave a mark of a lasting impression on the audience.

BdotCroc has been a noticeable figure around the city of Minneapolis known for her concise delivery and her well-packaged punch lines and lyrical abilities. She has performed extensively nationwide, and has made her mark in a major way as the youngest artist on the Soundset stage, and her recent debut at SXSW. All her music comes with a direct energetic flow, which impresses any audience. She stands out amongst her counterparts, and during a recent competition, she was nominated for “The Best Female MC” carried out at the Twin Cities Hip Hop Awards where she brought home the trophy against worthy
contenders.

BdotCroc is not only an artist, she is also a community leader, youth worker, radio personality, and true MC. As a queen of all trades, she’s capable of doing all things, i.e. there is nothing she can’t do. Her passion for community works, speaks all about her work ethic with young people in the juvenile justice system which fuels the stories being passed in her music.

She has performed alongside big artist like Lupe Fiasco, Big Krit, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis to name just a few. She competed against all males in a freestyle battle competition and won for $1000 and was recently featured on Sirius XM Shade 45 on Sway in The Morning. She connects her music with the audience and leaves a remarkable impression.

BdotCroc is a public figure to be watched for the next few years. With the recent release of her project Show & Tell she is already solidifying her place in music, and with the newest release of the follow up project, Detour, she is building a massive following one track at a time.

Brother Ali:

Over the past 17 years, Brother Ali has earned wide critical acclaim for his deeply
personal, socially conscious, and inspiring brand of hip-hop. Under Rhymesayers
Entertainment, he’s unleashed a series of lauded projects, establishing himself as one
of the most respected independent voices in music. The latest chapter in that celebrated
journey is All the Beauty in This Whole Life, a 15-track collection produced entirely by
Atmosphere’s Anthony “Ant” Davis.

This entire album is based on the reality that beauty is the splendor of truth" says the
Minneapolis MC. "Beauty in all of its forms is the outward manifestation of love and
virtue. It soothes the soul and pulls it gently toward the truth it communicates. Every
word and note of this album is intended to either reflect beauty, or expose the ugliness
that blocks us from living lives of meaning."

All the Beauty in This Whole Life is Ali’s first official release in five years and represents
the newest and most refined chapter of his life's journey. "Each of my albums are the result of the pain, growth and eventual healing that I experience. Articulating the pain
and navigating the healing allows the people who really feel my music to travel with me.
It's not only that we hurt together, we heal together as well." Contrasting intensely
heavy moments with joyous and grateful ones, All the Beauty in This Whole Life arrives
right on time, to help heal a divided nation through the power of music. Ali wouldn’t have
it any other way. "In times of great suffering in the outside world, the most important
battles start from within."
