Fuzzy Math:
Fuzzy Math performs regularly around the Twin Cities area, offering an eclectic mix of original jazz and creative pop covers…something for everyone. Founder, composer and keyboardist Mark Vandermyde started migrating from Mozart to Miles in middle school, studied composition at Harvard, and eventually assembled a group of top-notch musicians to bring to life his vision of creating tunes that are interesting, accessible and fun; serious music that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Their first album “Fuzzy Math” (2011) put them on the StarTribune’s Best of Minnesota list for “Best Jazz Act for People Bored With Jazz”. Their follow-up “Pass the Guacamole” was released at Icehouse in 2015, and they’re back with their latest effort “Dreamers Drive” on which they continue to stretch their boundaries and refine their craft. For this special show the group is excited to welcome back from NYC feature artist Andrew Schwandt on tenor sax, to be joined by staples of the metro music scene Matt Peterson on bass and Haralds Bondaris on drums.
