Sugo Day:
Sugo Day started as a bedroom project by Kansas City native, Nicholas “Sugo” Turner. Upon moving to Minneapolis, however, Sugo expanded far beyond the confines of his attic room both figuratively and literally. Inspired by the death of his best friend, Sugo, found the freeing nature of rap to be the best vehicle for his ideas while infusing his unique approach to the guitar within.
Join Sugo Day and friends to celebrate the release of "Liminal I" their first release in Minneapolis as a local.
Black Velvet Punks:
Seaberg (Black Velvet Punks) is a hip-hop, jazz punk, and neo-soul band fronted by Black gender-queer guitarist, Taylor Seaberg joined by bassist, Roderick Glasper (of Blvck Madonna). Often soulful and punk driven, the group carries a vibrant energy. The name “Velvet Punks” stands for any players that join with the soulful brainchild to emphasize the kick and splatter of punk with a tapestry of neo-soul charm and smoothness.
Chance York:
Chance is a standout figure in the Minneapolis music community, a rapper with dynamic lyricism in a variety of capacities. His lyrics have been described as deeply personal yet universal. There's a radiant positivity with no attempt to ignore the gloom.
DJ Rowsheen:
Rowsheen is a Minneapolis based Dj and Event Producer who’s guaranteed to get the crowd vibing. Featured on 89.3 The Current’s blog for her talents, she has toured and performed with international artists such as P.O.S of Doomtree, and Peaches. Rowsheen was one of the founding Dj’s and curators of Red Light Special, an 18 month residency at the Kitty Cat Klub. Her ability to read a crowd set her parties apart, Rowsheen been featured at events such as poetry slams at The Loft, 2017 X-games, and Minneapolis Open Streets. Born and raised in the Twin Cities, she works the scene well, producing sets that give a lasting impression.
