Lucky Paul:

Hi, I’m Lucky Paul aka Paul Taylor. I’m from New Zealand originally, I have lived in many places, and now am living between Los Angeles, wherever my mobile studio campervan happens to be living, and whatever tour I am playing on.

I do lots of things with sound and the way in which it is made but I’m a percussionist at heart. I have studied traditional music in cultures around the world for over a decade, including Brazil, India, and Korea.

I’ve also worked with many artists as a touring and recording drummer/percussionist including Feist, Jamie Lidell, Moses Sumney, Lianne La Havas, Aqualung, Beth Orton, Rodrigo Amarante, Mocky and Chilly Gonzales. And I have released my own music too.

I've spent a lot of time over the years utilizing technology to customize an approach to music making.  This has allowed me to make music with a very open and spontaneous approach.

I have developed an instrument which allows me to sample and loop sounds from whatever moment I find myself in. Whether that's from my surroundings, people I am playing music with, objects I come across, or just happenstance occurrences which interest me in a musical way.  I then add samples and synths as I go to make live electronic music created purely on the spot. 

Here is where I will start to release my creations. Not only the music I make, but also the sounds I create so you can take them and put them into your own music. I also develop devices with Max4Live and will be releasing ways in which you can play with the sounds I make.  If there is interest, I'll also make tutorials on how you can do this yourself.

Eventually, I hope to create an instrument much like the one I use myself for others to create their own sounds with.

MARTIN DOSH:

Dosh has been making independent music since 2002. A longtime mainstay of the Twin Cities music scene, he works with multiple instruments: mostly keyboards, drums and samplers; incorporating multiple disciplines, or lack thereof, into a tough-to-pin-down sound. He released his debut album Dosh, as well as Pure Trash, The Lost Take, Wolves And Wishes and Tommy on the indie label Anticon, and 2013's Milk Money was released on Graveface Records. He has done remixes for everyone from Eyedea and Abilities to Bon Iver, and has opened shows for everyone from Tune-Yards to Tortoise to Sylvan Esso. And although he's played alongside Andrew Bird, Jeremy Ylvisaker and Mike Lewis everywhere from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House to the Colbert Report, his favorite venue remains the 7th Street Entry.
