Sherry Minnick and Phil Nusbaum

Guitarist Sherry is the lead singer, and she treats audiences to a wide range of song types. Phil is the banjoist, and contributes a little singing, too.

Sherry’s interest in singing comes from her family. Car trips turned into great family times, as everybody was singing Great American Songbook songs such as When the Red Red Robin Goes Bob-Bob-Bobbin’ Along and  My Blue Heaven. Later, Sherry expanded to become a multi-style singer’s singer. She has recorded her own material, sat in on the recordings of others, and is in demand as a leader of children’s singing groups, and as a singer of traditional ballads and bluegrass and old time songs.

Phil has been playing the banjo for decades. His early interest was bluegrass but that has expanded to creating individualistic versions of many decades of pop music, traditional tunes, and writing banjo pieces that bridge the gap between the traditional and progressive.

Experienced with Audiences

Both Sherry and Phil are experienced radio communicators, meaning they relate well with audiences. They provide information and fun stories about their songs. Both enjoy not only performing, but talking about the songs and about the music. Catch Phil’s syndicated Bluegrass Review (www.bluegrassreview.com) and Bluegrass Saturday Morning on KBEM-FM (www.jazz88fm.com; 7-11am; 88.5FM).
