“Cinema : Music for Unmade Film”

Guitarist Todd Clouser and pianist Alex Mercado, two of the Mexico City creative music scene’s most noted artists, join drummer Rodrigo Villanueva in offering “Cinema”, a collection of “music for unrealized film” . Mercado, recognized as a virtuosic jazz pianist, plays subtly here, providing context for Clouser’s often lullaby-like melodies. “Wake The Boy” and “An Ever While” are equal parts melancholy and Americana, while other tracks drift into ambience and circular song, the two shelving their instrumental prowess for a cinematic approach.
