This Monday features Nathan Hanson's Conversation Hearts:
ERIK FRATZKE: a composer/performer/educator based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Best known for his work as the bassist of Happy Apple, he also plays bass in Craig Taborn’s Junk Magic, and Cory Healey’s Beautiful Sunshine Band. As a guitarist, Erik is a member of The Dave King Trucking Company, Scott Miller’s Fifth Column Ensemble, The Gang Font, as well as the leader of the instrumental rock group Zebulon Pike. His compositions have been performed and recorded by the new music group Zeitgeist. Erik has performed/recorded with Tim Berne, Michel Portal, Rhys Chatham, Airto, Benoit Delbec, and Yoshida Tatsuya (Ruins).
JOE STRACHAN: an established pianist, composer, and arranger who has performed at nearly every venue in the Twin Cities. Joe plays regularly with Rogue Tango, Charanga Tropical, the Twin Cities Latin Jazz Orchestra, Adam Meckler Orchestra, the Pete Whitman Xtet, the Jake Baldwin Quartet, and many other groups.
CHARLIE LINCOLN: Born and raised in Minneapolis, Charlie has performed with international artists including Kris Davis, Dave King, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jerry Bergonzi, and Ned Rothenberg as well as indie acts including Dosh and Dylan Hicks. Charlie has toured in China, Thailand, and Taiwan and has appeared at festivals and clubs across North America. He currently teaches ensembles and private lessons at Walker West Music Academy in Saint Paul. He studied at Berklee College of Music’s Global Jazz Institute and graduated in 2019.

MARC ANDERSON: American born percussionist, composer, poet and Zen Buddhist priest. Best known for records and live performances with guitarist and composer Steve Tibbetts, he has recorded and performed with dozens of notable artists. His interests and studies in non-western instruments and musical traditions are a signature of his sound and technical style.
