A girl born of stone and born to rock, STONE BABY is a mythological origin story that explores unbridled liberation through one’s journey into rock and roll. Blurring the intersection of theater and live music by challenging the boundaries of each, STONE BABY presents as a live rock show with theatrical, story-driven flair. STONE BABY is energetic, fast, loud, blood-pumping, live performance experience blending spoken word and rock music.
About the band: Kiss the Tiger pounced onto the Twin Cities’ music scene in late-2016 and have been making big waves ever since. Their song “Hold On To Love” off of the new album was inducted into 89.3 The Current's Chart Show Hall of Fame on August 11th, 2021 after spending 9 weeks at #1. Kiss the Tiger has opened for notable acts such as The Hold Steady, Lake Street Dive, Bad Bad Hats, Low Cut Connie, The Suburbs, Ike Reilly, Jackie Venson, Black Joe Lewis, and Emily Wolfe.
"What sets the Minneapolis quintet band apart is the magnetic performing style of lead singer Meghan Kreidler. Among the most celebrated actors to emerge on the local theater scene over the past decade, Kreidler seems to have snared the role of a lifetime as a flamboyant front woman, exuding a confidence that made her seem the ringmaster of all she surveyed." -Rob Hubbard, Pioneer Press
Mary Cutrufello has been known as a Texas honky-tonk heroine, a fiery Midwestern roots-rocker, and a powerhouse acoustic performer in her 30 years in the music business. Connecticut-raised and Yale-educated, she's made records showcasing all of those facets of her identity as her musical journey has taken her from the East Coast to Houston and now to Minnesota. Her music mixes the themes and jangly chords of the heartland with a heapin' helping of Texas twang. Her voice, now weathered but still pitch-strong, finds new depths of meaning in her performances. Over the years, she's also refined and deepened her approach to playing guitar. She says it’s all about tone, feel, and rhythm, the right part for the song—but as anyone who’s seen her tear-it-up live shows can attest, her lead skills put her in a class with the best of the Lone Star, North Star—or any other—State.
