LUKE POLIPNICK is our Monday Night Jazz Resident and Guest Curator for the month of April!

Luke Polipnick is a Chicago-based guitarist/multi-instrumentalist and composer with deep ties to the Twin Cities creative music community. He is an active participant in the experimental/improvised music, jazz, pop, and extreme metal scenes in Chicago and beyond. His band Abhorrent Expanse (Tim Glenn, Erik Fratzke, Brian Courage) celebrates their debut album this month.

This Monday features two sets with:

Courageous Endeavors was formed in 2012 by four young musicians interested in exploring new original jazz compositions. The band's music draws from a variety of other genres in pursuit of a unique and vital sound, seeking to push each other to new musical heights. They were a mainstay of local venues around the Twin Cities and toured regionally in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Illinois. Their debut album "Prototype" was released independently in 2014 and was featured on MPR, KBEM, MN Daily, City Pages, and the South Bend Tribune. Since Brian's departure from Minnesota that same year, their performances have been more sporadic. All four members have toured extensively with other projects. Tonight's Icehouse show marks their first appearance in the Twin Cities since 2018 and promises to be a memorable evening.
