Prime Minister is the coming together of Kavyesh Kaviraj, Theodore Harris and Kenneth Watson Jr to create a modern, futuristic jazz fusion project. Prime Minister blends jazz, gospel, funk and neo-soul seamlessly, and collectively they bring to the table every influence that they derive their musical creativity from. Prime Minister has been described as “Thundercat meets Snarky Puppy”, and draws influences from acts like Robert Glasper, Justin Brown and Nyeusi, and Marcus Miller. They met at the McNally Smith College of Music in 2016, as fledgling artists, and as they have individually gone on to individual musical success, they each hold this project dear as a representation of their musical worlds colliding, and a dream of manifesting a new sound. Between the three of them, Prime Minister covers a vast range of musical style and genre, and are excited to be part of the Twin Cities music scene.
