Vlad Messing has been working in Twin Cities theatre and dance professionally and communally since his boyhood. He switched gears and began honing in on folk and roots music in 2017 and self-released his debut record "Pine and Prairie" in 2020, which was swiftly recorded in a Minneapolis studio and produced by local sound-techies John Peters and John Miller. The record featured Blair Krivanek on acoustic lead and Nici Peper on vocals. Obscure and little known then and now, the record received attention on 89.3 The Current and MPR's Minnesota Now. Vlad travels throughout Minnesota performing his songs whenever the opportunity arises and is thrilled to be playing at the Icehouse where he is joined by three amazing musicians whom he met through various art projects in town.
