Ben Varian and Jake Tobin are two songwriters and multidisciplinary artists who eat the same foods as each other. They write experimental pop songs that examine and exalt the minutia of everyday life, and they eat the same exact foods as each other in the same exact quantities. Their music ranges from jazzy synthfunk to harmonically dense piano compositions, and they have been sponsored by the Food Lion grocery chain to undertake a four-week cross-country trip wherein they will eat the same foods.
Twin Cities indie glam pop band, d’Lakes (also a secret acronym) amplifies universally shared emotions through hummable melodies, unpredictable genre twists, and unconfined lyrics. While themes of queer love are ever persistent throughout their writing, d’Lakes has been finding ways to play with colorful narration and unlikely characters. They are currently in the process of preparing for the release of their 2nd album, “Heaven Is A Silent Disco” while still riding the joyful wave of their debut album, “Unforgettable Cheer”
Mary Grace is the endeavor of organist and experimental musician Molly Raben. A former church musician, with her foot in a corner of the cosmos, she looks to the wind and the sky for her biggest inspiration.
