Minneapolis based pianist and composer Jack Barrett was looking for his next project in the wake of the massive interruption that was the start of the COVID 19 pandemic. In his search for new material he gathered longtime friends and collaborators Charlie Bruber, Ben Ehrlich and Jake Baldwin to play bass, drums and trumpet respectively. Drawing inspiration from classic 70s jazz recordings they set out to make a set of music that would be more honest, raw, and visceral. The result is the body of work found on Red Meat Blues, Barrett’s second full offering after his first set of 6 songs released in late 2019. The music reflects aspects of the headspace that these musicians found themselves in, ranging from notes of uncertainty and discomfort to moments of serene introspection. Red Meat Blues will be available Aug 23 on all streaming platforms.

Toivotet features Patrick Adkins on piano, Peter Goggin on alto sax, JT Bates on drums, Cody McKinney on electric bass, and, as you might’ve guessed, Toivo Hannigan on Guitar. Featuring compositions by Toivo and Patrick, the band promises to create a journey of sonic exploration, where each member's distinct voice comes together in harmony, producing a symphony of emotions that takes the audience on a journey of their own.
