Sleeping Jesus is an indie pop-rock band started by Nick Elstad in Winona, MN, in 2016. The now five-piece Minneapolis group, featuring Tyler Steinley (drums), Andy Bauer (bass), Seamus St. Clair (lead guitar), and Dante DeGrazia (keys), are gearing up to release their second studio album, Hollywood Smile, this November. The album will follow their acclaimed debut album, Leave the Party Early, that was recorded with friend and producer Mike Noyce (Bon Iver, Tallest Man On Earth). The band has traversed the country, performing from Los Angeles to New York City, and performed during the SXSW festival in Austin earlier this year. The band has plans to tour the country in support of their album in spring of 2024. In the meantime, you can find them dodging revenge-fueled clowns and goths in the Greater Minneapolis area in between gigs.
The Get Together began with the writings and recordings of producer Ethan Huffington. Surrounded by his plants and pedals in a wood-paneled Minneapolis basement, he set about crafting neo-psychedelic journeys through otherworldly dreamscapes. A get together necessarily involves more than one person however, and via the serendipitous magic of the internet, a band soon coalesced around his songs. Together, they created a live act that showcases their combined creative energies, while reinterpreting and expanding upon the recorded discography.
Gabacho is a Chicago based, pop/surf rock project fronted by songwriter Siul Reynoso. Having spent his childhood in both Mexico and the United States, he’d often be referred to as ‘Gabacho’ by his peers which translates to ‘foreigner’ in English. His music is a testament to his journey through identity, belonging, and multiculturality, blending traditional Mexican elements (like Ranchera and Cumbia) as well west coast American lo-fi surf pop.
