Pavel Jany's diversity in his guitar playing and composing have no boundaries, and his long musical journey encompasses many various styles. His classical guitar and compositional backgrounds were enriched by influences from East European Gypsy music of his native Czechoslovakia, to the works of jazz fusion guitarists Ralph Towner, Al Di Meola, Biréli Lagrène, and many Brazilian guitar masters. His three year stay in West Africa and his travels to Brazil and other South American countries deepend his interest in Afro-Latin music, and his passion for samba, bossa nova, and Brazilian jazz.
Pavel has founded several international jazz projects on the Twin Cities' music scene, including Brazilian jazz ensemble "Ticket To Brasil", Gypsy jazz trio "Talking Strings", and modern jazz group "World Jazz Collegium".
