About This Program
Bartók and Kodály not only championed the folk music of their native Hungary, but internalized the rhythms, harmonies and melodies of that folk music into their own compositional language. Both spent years in the countryside of Eastern Europe collecting, notating and even recording thousands of original tunes, and essentially giving birth to the discipline of ethnomusicology. Hear the SPCO strings in dynamic performances of this folk-inspired music for duos. 

Tickets for individual events will be available one month before the date of each concert. Tickets for individual concerts are $20 per person and include a drink of choice (wine, beer, craft cocktail or non-alcoholic house-made beverage) at each of the three concerts.
