Listening party and celebration for YYY’s “A Tribute To Pet Sounds” Beach Boys cover record. An eclectic night of intimate sets from performers featured on the record, as well as an album listening.

YYY:

Multi-dimensional songwriter/producer Austin Carson aka YYY is a Minneapolis, genre-blurring experimental pop artist bent on delivering a previously unheard unique sonic experience. Creating beautiful transitions between analog bass drones, psychedelic guitar riffs and vocal samples, YYY maintains a lighthearted undertone that challenges the listener.

P.O.S:

Doomtree co-founder, punk philosopher and lyrical bomb-thrower Stefon Alexander, aka P.O.S, makes tight, declamatory music that builds on the Minneapolis-bred rapper and producer’s penchant for grinding beats and radical lyrics.

Al Church:

Summer's coming early this year if Al Church has his way. His new solo LP, Next Summer, is a suite of pop confections conjuring up carefree days of his youth. His summers were filled with driving around with the windows rolled down bumping Dr. Dre's The Chronicand R.E.M.'s Monster. "My album is like [Monster], but with saxophone and keyboards instead of Peter Buck's guitar tremolo," the Duluth-raised multi-instrumentalist exclaims when the Athens alt-rock legends' "Strange Currencies" hits the speakers. He's with City Pages at Mackenzie Pub on a frigid night in downtown Minneapolis.

Elle PF (fka Bae Tigre):

’elle pf' is a Minneapolis-based musical project (formally known as Bae Tigre) consisting of songwriter,  multi-instrumentalist and producer Ranelle LaBiche, drummer Katharine Seggerman (Lunch Duchess, BOYF) and violinist/guitarist Jenessa LaSota.

Fort Wilson Riot:

Fort Wilson Riot is a band with the unique ability to seamlessly fuse genres such as electro-synth-pop, R&B, shoegaze, folk, psychedelic-rock and crooning balladry, unexpectedly weaving a cohesive tapestry through the strength of their vocals that brings an undeniable magnetism to their live shows.

City Counselor:

Politically-fatigued sad-pop from Minneapolis, MN (from Nicky of Lunch Duchess and BOYF). Debut album arriving January 2017.
