Cedric Fuller & Global Sound:
Drummer Cedric Fuller, a native of the Southeast, more specifically Sunbury, Georgia is a life-long drummer. Cedric began playing drums at an early and has continued to be connected to music and drumming for most of his life.
Raised in a Christian home with a Grandfather as his father figure who was a guitarist and singer and heavily involved in gospel music, allowed Cedric to naturally connect to gospel music as his roots but he was also grounded and rooted in R&B, Soul, Blues, Jazz, Country and later Hip-Hop. Cedric made a name for himself as a drummer by relying on those musical roots to develop his own style of drumming which was and still is primarily “pocket playing”. The music that he grew to love to play featured the drummer as the heartbeat and foundation of the music and focused primarily on keeping the music sounding and feeling good. That style and focus allowed him to be offered many playing opportunities including traveling and touring with the Swanee Quintet of Augusta, GA. Many more opportunities would follow after a move to the Atlanta, GA area and its growing musical scene during the early 2000’s where he could be seen playing alongside jazz, neo-soul, R & B, blues and gospel artists and was also featured on a few independent artists recording projects.
In 2015, Cedric decided to end his 10 year hiatus and return to his first love, drumming. Since his return, Cedric has performed in Orchestra Hall with violinist, Ernest Bisong, performed in the 2016 Twin Cities Jazz Festival with Trumpeter and good friend Solomon Parham, as well as being the house drummer for the Solomon Sessions. After a year of drumming for others within the Twin Cities, Cedric followed a dream of his and formed his own band with respected musicians he played and connected with, forming Cedric Fuller & Global Sound.
