BIO: MIKE MICHEL is a Minnesota Music Academy award winning songwriter, modern guitarist, and music educator, who was raised in Cincinnati,OH, developed his craft in Los Angeles, CA and now creates out of Minneapolis, MN. After 3 years of debilitating hyperacusis & tinnitus (auditory cortex conditions) which almost ended his career, Mike made a huge comeback in 2017 with his first acoustic rock recording and health campaign called On The Mend. OTM has helped many musicians around the world find resources for their auditory ailments. 2019 has been a monumental year for Mike as well. He navigated his way back to electric music and launched his new inspirational, guitar friendly, eclectic indie-groove group, MIKE MICHEL & THE ORANGE GOODNESS. DARE I DO is the debut single from the Orange Goodness, and at 120 BPM, provides ample guitar pyrotechnics and groove for new music fans. Interwoven are lyrics that tell a story of resiliency and rebirth. Outside of The Orange Goodness, Mike has had the honor of performing and writing with many Minnesota artists like Haley, Dave King, Saltee, Carnage, Iffy, The Unknown Prophets, and DJ Woody McBride. Mike has also lead some of Minnesota’s premiere art rock bands including The Bill Mike Band. From 2009-2011, Mike created and curated Minnesota’s first guitar festival, The Modern Guitar Festival. The Rock And Roll Therapy Room in Minneapolis is Mike’s music education hub where he creates & hosts one of a kind community music programs to empower teen & adult musicians.
