Week # 3 featuring:

Set 1: Charlie Lincoln Quartet

Set 2: Dosh // Jake Baldwin // Chris Bates // Collin Clauson // Luke Polipnick

LUKE POLIPNICK is our Monday Night Jazz Resident and Guest Curator for the month of April!

Luke Polipnick is a Chicago-based guitarist/multi-instrumentalist and composer with deep ties to the Twin Cities creative music community. He is an active participant in the experimental/improvised music, jazz, pop, and extreme metal scenes in Chicago and beyond. His band Abhorrent Expanse (Tim Glenn, Erik Fratzke, Brian Courage) celebrates their debut album this month.

This Monday features two sets with:

Dosh // Jake Baldwin // Chris Bates // Collin Clauson // Luke Polipnick are an electro-acoustic improvisatory ensemble assembled by Luke Polipnick to collectively explore grooves, textures, and melodies.

Charlie Lincoln is an in-demand bassist in the Twin Cities. He has performed with international artists including Kris Davis, Dave King, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jerry Bergonzi, and Ned Rothenberg as well as indie acts including Dosh and Dylan Hicks. Charlie has toured in China, Thailand, and Taiwan and has appeared at festivals and clubs across North America. He studied at Berklee College and graduated in 2019. Charlie Lincoln Quartet is an ensemble of dynamic improvisors that offer a personal and idiosyncratic interpretation of Charlie’s original compositions. The music explores the contrast and continuity between highly-rhythmic, interlocking themes and spacious free improvisation. The harmony is dense yet delicate as lyrical chromatic melodies unravel over a shifting ground of grooves, vamps, and drones.
