Jaspar Lepak is a folk/Americana songwriter whose remarkable gift for melody is only surpassed by her poetry. After twelve years living away from the Twin Cities (in both Seattle, WA and Durban, South Africa), she recently moved back to Minneapolis, the city where she began her songwriting career almost twenty years ago. This show celebrates her homecoming. She will perform as a duo with Ben Cook-Feltz on piano and harmonies. Come celebrate with us!

Deeply influenced by the many places she has called home, Lepak mixes folk and bluegrass sounds with unpretentious honesty. Often drawing comparisons to folk and country greats Emmylou Harris and Kate Wolf, she sweeps across landscapes with an emotional depth that is extraordinary while her clear, pure voice touches the heart.

“Jaspar Lepak is the real deal when it comes to songwriting and guitar work, and as a vocalist she has few—if any—peers. She is a songwriter's dream.” ~ Christine Lavin

In 2021, Lepak released an abundance of new music including the folk charting album Desert Ghosts and two singles “One Brave Life” and “My Right To Choose.” Tonight, will span almost two decades of music, along with brand new songs she will bring to the stage!

Molly Dean is involved in a multitude of creative projects as a vocalist, instrumentalist & composer. Her music has been described as "deceptively simple" and her presence "enrapturing - a songstress that eschews archetypal female folkisms with subtle rebellion."

Chris Bierden will be joining Molly Dean on bass (AKA Invisible Boy and bassist for Polica).

"Her grace in moving around the musical landscape is effortless. Where one would expect some jarring juxtaposition of sound, Dean gives us seamless layers. She combines seemingly incongruous elements to create light and hypnotic beauty." - Rich Larson, Southernminn Scene
