COLORES (english: Colors) is an all inclusive dance night representing WE as a people, ALL OF US. It is time to clean our pallet of the last 3yrs and rebuild our community. There will be a mixed bag of sounds ranging from Reggaeton • Afro House • Funk • Trap • Hip-Hop • Baile Funk • House and mostly breaking new music. This night will be a representation of the local music scene. Brought to you by Icehouse in conjunction with local talented DJs.
DJ Keezy is a product of North Minneapolis who has been making waves in the Twin Cities for 7 years. She is a curator of many dance nights within the Twin Cities that hold safe spaces for BIPOC LGBTQIA+ people, including The Klituation dance party that launched in 2015 in First Avenue’s Mainroom.
Keezy was named City Pages’ Twin Cities Best Club DJ of 2017 and has shared her passion for music by touring nationally and internationally. She has played at prestigious venues throughout the U.S such as Red Rocks Amphitheater, 9:30 club, and Brooklyn Steel, and has opened for established acts such as DJ Spinderella, De La Soul, Big Freedia, Jessie Reyez, Trina, and many more. DJ Keezy is also co-founder of Aunties that launched July 2020, a soon-to-be music venue that centers BIPOC womxn and BIPOC LGBTQIA+ people.
Kenichi Thomas (aka DJ Just Nine) has been exploring music without regard for genres from a young age. That expansive taste, plus a desire to perfect the craft of DJing has earned him notable achievements like touring with Rhymesayers Entertainment artist Atmosphere; serving as I Self Devine’s tour DJ for five years; and performing on high-profile stages such as Rock The Bells, SxSW, Low End Theory, Afropunk Festival, 2018’s Super Bowl Live, and numerous Soundset Festivals. Just Nine currently holds down the decks for Minneapolis hip hop artist Greg Grease, countless club nights throughout the Twin Cities, and as a founding member of the future-funk band Astralblak (formerly known as ZULUZULUU). Together with Astralblak, he has released three albums on Sound Vérité Records (2016’s “What’s The Price”, 2018’s “Seeds”, and 2020's "Space & Time EP"). Since the Fall of 2021, he is a DJing instructor with the Electronic Music/ Recording Arts (EMRA) program at MacPhail Center for Music in downtown Minneapolis.
