Carolyne Naomi, based in the Twin Cities for 9 years, brings a unique blend of Afrobeats, soul, R&B, reggae, and gospel to her modern afro-fusion sound. With a master’s degree in Media and Communication from Nigeria, she relocated to Minnesota for guitar and voice studies. Her music reflects her immigrant experience, resonating with today's challenges and potential. Carolyne has performed at notable venues like Cedar Cultural Center, Dakota Jazz Club, and opened for Burna Boy and Wizkid. Debut EP 'Miss Naomi' dropped on Nov 4th.
Experience the frequencies of Gifted Handz Band, a dynamic group of creatives on a mission to transform lives through their mesmerizing performances. With a unique Afro-fusion style, they craft boundary-defying art that informs, influences, and ignites inspiration.
Rooted in gospel and infused with Afrobeat vibes, Gifted Handz crafts an unforgettable sound that's both soul-stirring and groove-inducing. Their must-see performances are nothing short of spectacular, captivating audiences with an energy that's truly infectious.
iLLism is a Twin Cities-based hip-hop duo comprising husband and wife Envy and Fancy. Their sound spans across various genres, such as Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz, and Minneapolis Funk, and is enriched by the use of live instruments in their performances. With two EPs and three full-length albums under their belt, they have performed on prominent stages like Super Bowl Live, NAMM, SXSW, and Paisley Park. Beyond their musical talent, iLLism is committed to uplifting the black artistic community. In 2022, they opened The Legacy Building, a creative space that supports local black artists. In 2023, they organized the Soul of the Southside Juneteenth Arts and Music Festival, which attracted 2,500 people for a day of music, art, food, and healing. iLLism's unwavering commitment to music and community has created a space for themselves and others to thrive, inspiring hope, perseverance, and artistic excellence.
Arthur “L.A.” Buckner's deep infatuation with music began at an early age. At age 3 he would practically go an entire church service without looking away from the drums. His father took notice and shortly thereafter purchased his first drum kit.
L.A. Buckner is a performing musician, teaching artist, and producer from the Northside of Minneapolis. He holds a master’s degree in Percussion Performance from McNally Smith College of Music. Currently, LA serves as co-host for the two-time Webby award-winning PBS music education YouTube series Sound Field.
In August 2020, LA took iTunes by storm with the release of his project BiG HOMiE, which reached the #1 Jazz position within 24 hours of its release.
